Description
The Hornady Custom load is centerfire rifle ammunition built around a 240 gr CX hunting bullet for the 338 Lapua Magnum cartridge. It is intended for hunting medium, large, and dangerous game.
The CX, or Copper alloy eXpanding, projectile has monolithic copper-alloy construction and a polymer Heat Shield tip. Its one-piece design is made to resist separation while delivering controlled expansion, deep penetration, and approximately 95% weight retention. The projectile is lead-free, making it suitable where nontraditional hunting bullets are required.
This load has a listed .611 G1 ballistic coefficient, 2,900 fps muzzle velocity, and 4,482 ft lbs muzzle energy. Each cartridge uses a reloadable brass case with a non-corrosive Boxer primer. It is offered as new-production ammunition.
