Description
The Hornady Dangerous Game DGX Bonded load is centerfire rifle ammunition developed for large and dangerous-game hunting. It pairs the 404 Jeffery cartridge with a 400 gr DGX Bonded expanding bullet engineered for controlled expansion and deep penetration through tough hide, muscle, and bone.
The projectile uses a 0.098″ copper-clad steel jacket bonded to a lead core. This construction is designed to resist jacket-and-core separation, retain weight, and penetrate deeply after high-energy impact. Its flat nose has serrated sections that promote controlled expansion and straight penetration with reduced deflection. The bullet is designed to expand to approximately 1.5 to 2 times its original diameter.
Muzzle Velocity: 2300 fps. Muzzle Energy: 4698 ft lbs. The powder is matched to the load for suitable pressure and velocity, including regulation in double rifles.
Each cartridge is assembled with a brass case. This is New Hornady ammunition.
