The Pro-Shot 17R bore brush is a benchrest-quality cleaning brush sized for 17 caliber rifle bores. Built around a brass core wound with bronze bristles, it scrubs powder fouling and copper deposits from .17 caliber barrels without the corrosion concerns of cheaper steel-core brushes. The oversized brass core holds the bronze bristles tight, delivering a longer service life under frequent use.
This brush uses the American Standard 5-40 thread pattern common to .17 caliber cleaning rods. At a compact 2-inch length, the 17R is matched to rifle-length cleaning and is compatible with cleaning rods and bore guides designed for the smaller .17 caliber bore. The bronze bristles are solvent-safe, so the 17R can be run wet with standard gun cleaning solvents for faster fouling removal.
