The Savage Arms B.MAG Heavy Barrel is the rifle Savage built from the ground up around the flat-shooting .17 Winchester Super Magnum (17 WSM) rimfire cartridge, pairing a 22-inch heavy-profile barrel with the company’s renowned adjustable AccuTrigger for a versatile hunting and target platform.
This B.MAG uses a bolt-action mechanism fed by a detachable rotary magazine that holds 8+1 rounds of 17 WSM. The 22-inch heavy-profile barrel wears a 1:8-inch twist rate for bullet stabilization and a factory-threaded muzzle ready for a muzzle device or suppressor. The carbon steel receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting since this configuration ships with no iron sights installed. A thumb safety provides quick, intuitive manipulation.
Up front, the B.MAG wears a fixed black synthetic stock configured for right-handed shooters, giving the rifle a trim, fast-handling profile. Overall length measures 40.25 inches and unloaded weight sits at roughly 6 pounds, putting this rifle in light, easy-carry territory for walk-about hunting or casual range work.
